
Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Jamie Smialek is a licensed professional counselor. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Malone University. Prior to working at Winston Consulting & Counseling, Jamie has worked as a high school teacher and counselor intern, providing services to children, adolescents, and families in individual and group settings.
Jamie places an emphasis on creating a safe and warm environment to foster a positive relationship with clients. She seeks to help her clients identify strengths, which they can use as they work toward resolving issues and reaching their goals. With cognitive behavior therapy as her theoretical foundation, Jamie uses a variety of interventions with clients, understanding that every individual ha unique strengths and needs. Jamie has worked with individuals who have learning differences, ADHD, depression, anxiety, traumatic experiences, and behavioral issues.
When Jamie is not counseling, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, camping, and trying new recipes. She has recently discovered that jigsaw puzzles are the perfect way to quiet her busy mind at the end of the day.
